FREETIX VIP Membership experiences?

I am just wondering if anyone who is currently a VIP member of FREETIX can recommend it? Is it worth the 30$ membership fee?

So youve been flooded with emails too eh?

    • what do you mean? I am just curious if the membership is worth as I am going to melbourne this weekend and it seems they are based there and offer some extra shows for Melbourne apart from some movie tickets (I got 4 tickets for run all night in event-sydney and so was positive about them so far :) )

  • I don't really get how it works. So $30 buys you points or something and you use them towards tickets so you keep having to top up? so if you want to buy a ticket for you and a partner you have to use double points or get them to sign up as well? I belong to a similar service and don't think its worth it so let my membership lapse.

  • I've just joined about a month ago, and so far have picked up quite a few free tickets for the comedy shows during the MICF (Melbourne International Comedy Festival). I literally could've gone to a new show every night if I had the time.
At the moment, they have some cinema tickets on offer too, for films like The Age of Madeline, Black Sea, all free. My 300 points that I received upon joining are still intact. I presume that if and when they do have better shows (premium shows), then these might cost some of my points.
But so far, I reckon I've already got my $30 worth out of it.

  • I'd like to know what the social membership gets verses the VIP membership, I've just been sent an email offering a social membership for $15 when I look at what events are on offer in Perth at the moment I see a movie(Woman in Gold) and Taste tickets both listed as members only but are they VIP members only or Social members only I can't tell without signing up :( I'm keen for Taste tickets but suspect it may be VIP I get enough free movie tickets by entering online comps so I don't particularly need a freetix membership for more of those.

    • It looks like the only difference between Social and VIP memberships are the credit amount you get.

I joined before they had the Social option. I would've probably prefer that over the VIP.
