Magic The Gathering Booster Packs $5.50 @ Gamagori

40

I recently got into magic and I compared prices around Perth and Gamagori has booster backs for 5:50 which is cheaper than Tactics.

Used to play magic.. 5.50 is a good price but probably cheaper to just buy a box.. 165/36 packs=4.58 a pack but rule of thumb is never buy packs for cracking cards.. just buy singles cause the odds of cracking that one good card you really want is very slim.

.. its a money pit, hence why I haven't touched it in years

Tell me about it. I stopped playing/going broke 20 years ago. ;)

      • 15 years ago…."Instant counter spell!"

      • If you'd kept playing from 20 years ago your collection would be worth a bomb now!

        • I know…
I read an article a few months back about the value of some of the rare cards that haven't been made in many years. Sadly, I remember having almost all of the ones they mentioned. 10's of thousands of dollars worth. :(

          Oh well…

        • @starionx:
I've still got my cards at home :)
But I never had any super rare cards tho :(

  • Check your local EB or LGS/Comic store to see what they have available also, I have found $4 boosters can be bought from time to time there. Got some M14 the other day for that price!

If you do want to crack packs, Booster Boxes can be found for ~$150 from various online outlets and is your best value (check GamesEmpire's website).

I'm a new player and all my friends have shown me Singles are still the best way to build a deck and collect cards you'll actually play but I still buy boosters sometimes and have started playing Draft.

K-Mart and Big W sell Magic cards too. They don't usually have a lot in stock, but if you can manage to find some of the previous set after the new set comes out, they're usually discounted to get rid of them. I've managed to find some starter decks at $12 each from K-Mart and a couple of booster packs from Big W for $2 each. But like I said, stock and price depend on what the store has, how well they sell, and if the store is trying to get rid of them.

  • Stopped playing once they started banning the use of Black Lotus and Moxes.

  • 3rd edition was the last I purchased, Dual Lands.
