Unotelly is a great service. check the details about setting up a dynamic DNS as well. I use unotelly setup in my router with dynamic DNS and pretty much forget it's there.

  • Don't they always have 30 days free?
I think you can also extend that a couple of months by mentioning them on Twitter or facebook.

How much is the service pm after the 30 day trial. (Too lazy to check) are there any deals?

    • Then, you can choose between our Premium Package ($4.95/month) and our Gold Package ($7.95/month). The only difference is that the Gold Package includes UnoVPN for encrypted browsing on 3G networks.

      • so what makes me want to pay $5 a month when I can get uflix and pay less than $2

seems to me that its the case of a journalist not knowing what they are even talking about.

goes on about VPN services in the first line and lists every company that isnt even offering a VPN..the only thing HBO can and will do is block AU credit cards, just get a prepaid american one, easily solved

      • +1

Agreed, it would be obvious if you were paying with an AU credit card, I imagine that's how they decided who to block. Surely it would be difficult to try and figure out who is using a vpn!

Anyway I can attest to unotelly being great, never had a problem and they provide good setup instructions. It's cheaper if you prepay for longer I think. Occasionally they do promo codes too. Also there was a promo as mentioned above which may still be around where if you mention them on social media you get a free month, up to three months I think

          Is it better than getflix?

        • @stockastics:

Doubt it. I'm paid up anyways so sticking with getflix

        • @stockastics:

I haven't tried getflix sorry. The only other one I tried was unblock-us which if I recall correctly was fine too but not as user friendly as unotelly.

        • @Chik5555: thanks mate..I have signed up for getflix and so far it has been hassle free

        • Been using UnoTelly for about a year. Works perfect. Switch regions/zones to watch whatever I want.
A "must buy" IMO if you're using Netflix / Other streaming service

      • +1

Except that you can block VPN access by blocking the IP addresses of VPN providers. I thought this is what Hulu did.

        • +1

which didn't work. I can watch hulu fine

        • +2

          @ShinjukuJR:
Yep VPN providers just start up a new server with a new IP.
The network TV providers simply can't keep up. They are going to have to get very creative to stop it, IMO it's near impossible.

        • @greydaniel: Good to know.

      • +1

just get a prepaid american one, easily solved

Any tips on how to do that?

  • +2

Great service. Works for Hong Kong TVB as well

  • +2

    F1. Yay. Ch10 sucks.

    • +1

not every race on bbc either..
combine both ch10 and bbc you will still miss spanish, italian and USA races

      • Thanks guys

I tried to watch the F1 qualiy last night using bbc and hola, but it was useless and unwatchable

        Will this be any better?

Thought the title was "…30 days FREE PORNO" for a second and then I realized it's not! Go back to my PS3 game now.

    • That wouldn't even be a good deal.

  • Cheers OP, shame they couldn't offer this a few days after Netflix AU launched. Shall make the most of my trial.

  • +1

I tried signing up on my smart phone, it said I have 30 days, then next screen said authenticate for 5 additional days, I clicked on the email they sent, it said incorrect then said I have 3 days trial, then when I tried to rejoin it says email is taken. If this is an indication of what there service is like, then no thanks. I'll stick with getflix

    • Actually I had something similar, when following the link on my laptop. Now says I have 8 days remaining…

    • Email them, I've found they are pretty responsive

  • Does this definitely allow you to use Hulu?
I've tried a few DNS proxies that'll work for Netflix-US-UK & BBC iPlayer etc but gets detected by Hulu.

    • watching Hulu Plus on android TV box via UnoTelly 30 day promo & Netflix US works fine too.

      • cool

  • I have (had) unblock-us as it was only 99c for the first month, which ends this week.

Time to try UnoTelly me thinks

  • It would not surprise me to see big business and their Liberal allies trying to ban geo-dodging servies (VPNs and SmartDNS) for facilitating piracy. People try to do the right thing and pay rather than pir8, but the "evil" government won't let them access their preferred provider, and instead forces them to use inferior, overprices local services like Foxtel or watered down AU NetFlix.

    • I know, we are paying extra to these services to get access to paid US services … And it's still 'wrong'. Give the people what they want!

  • +1

Almost every foreign business know that they can charge far more from AU customers given the common man in AU sits far above from a common man in USA. The reason is the tax system and social benefits which makes the gaps between peoples income very minimal in good majority of the population. As a result common person in AU can afford to pay more. All the foreign businesses try to milk the cow in this situation. It's a shame that Australians don't get more or even same by paying more. Instead we get less by paying more which is hard to explain.

  • question to all:

I have had a trial version of Netflix…therefore I have an account with them, although it is currently 'paused'…
can I still watch Netflix on UnoTelly for free, which I have just set up??…I selected Netflix from the channel selection and I am automatically taken straight to my previous Netflix account. Does that mean that I will be charged to continue using my 'paused' Netflix account???

thx in advance for any help/advice…

    Barb

I would think it would ask you to reactivate your account and then charge you?
You can log out of your old account if you want to make a new one for the trial. Not sure if they will be able to detect you've already had one.

  • I've been with Unotelly for a year now and I love them - they have an android app to easily switch between regions of Netflix, Hulu works seamlessly and I can update my ip from my couch. Even for a n00b like me its easy.

Only thing that doesn't work for me is Netflix on ChromeCast. I believe this is because of some weirdo dns stuff thats embedded in the ChromeCast. To get around this I use my WDTV Live box to watch Netflix (the only thing its used for these days since I installed Plex).

  • So has anyone else experienced constant buffering lately whilst using Unotelly, It happened yesterday most of the time whilst I was watching Netflix on my WDTV Live. Just trying to pinpoint the problem.

    • Nope mines been fine. From memory there is a backup server or whatever you can switch to on unotelly, try that?

  • Gave Unotelly a try. Gave up tonight after ~2 weeks (not even going to complete the 30 day trial). I tried locator and unblock.us previously and didn't have an issue. Unotelly I had to log in to the website to update my ip address every time i went to watch netflix (daily) even though my ip address didn't change. Gave it a solid try but moving on now to try out getflix. I won't be recommending unotelly.
