Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Voyager Class $29.95 Deluxe $19.95 Legends $12.95 [Myer]

60

Introductory offer from Myer.

Prices will go to $49.95 for Voyager, $29.95 for Deluxe and $19.95 for legends after the offer is over.

As far as I know these have been the first official combiner releases for a long time (multiple different characters joining to make one bigger robot) and as such have been selling out fast. Target and Toys 'r us have hardly any left and toys r us have been selling them full price, target had a ~20% discount while the toys were out.

Personally my measure of if it's a bargain is if it's possible to sell it for profit on eBay and yep you can. Not that I'm trying to encourage Brodens .I hardly think the effort is worth it in this case anyway.

And for those who don't know you need either of the Voyager classes (Optimus Prime or Silverbolt) to form the body and one of each Deluxe class (Skydive, Alpha Bravo, Firefly, Dragstrip) to form the arms and legs. Of course you can get both Voyagers to change out the body when you feel like it. And apparently Powerglide (Legends class) forms the gun for Superion, the combined autobot figure. The rest of legends class is meh :p The current robots released in wave 1 aren't the complete robot (Superion) from the cartoons, but the toys feature something called 'scramble city' where you can connect any limb to any torso so you can mix and match them to make up your own robots.

Seems like most stores have the Voyager classes in stock, the Deluxe classes are running low. Myer city in Melb had none, when I talked to them yesterday the sales assistant said other stores in my area had 12 units (they're just listed as 'assorted' in their computer), and when I went in today to one of the ones in my area they had 2 units on the shelf and 3 in the back and managed to get the set after pestering the employee to look for them. So I'd suggest to get in quick if you're interested.

While I'm not sure with these because they're based on the old cartoon transformers instead of the new movie ones, but these are the kind of toys I'd go 'omg I had one of those as a kid.'

Note the big one in the pic is a Voyager class (phone is messing up my photos at the moment and that's the only I can grab off it)

    Robots in disguise

    • More than meets the eye…Bargains in disguise.

  • What a random assortment of characters. Wish I had older kids though so I could have an excuse for buying them :P

    • Look inside yourself, you are the older kid :)

Yeah I thought it was strange too. There's a deception on the list for an autobot combiner.

There was actually a couple buying it in Toys r us a few weeks ago and they looked confused so I helped them out with looking for the full set and they questioned me over that. I had no idea (I've never watched the cartoon personally, I just like the toys :p). And I doubt optimus was ever part of one but like I said, never watched so don't really know.

Looked more into it. Seems like the deception is meant to be able to attach to the deception combiner coming out in wave 2 whist another autobot will replace him to form Superion. Also seems a few names have been changed due to licensing reasons.

The titan class devastator (yet to be released) is the one to get anyway :p

      • And it's most likely going to cost you $300… Geez!

But but but this devastator is actually green!!!

Hurray for busted links! Don't know what happened there.

But I like the caption for devastator on the tfwiki site.

Your childhood has returned- but this time it's after your wallet.

    • Lol got into watching a bunch of vid reviews on it now.

The figures have a feature called 'scrambled city' where any limb can fit any torso. And I think arms can become legs too.

So they probably released it this way on purpose (in waves) so you don't just buy the only ones you like in one go (ie the parts that make up the ones that are actually in the cartoon) probably to make you think later on 'oh I already have one decepticon, lets buy the rest of them' when they're released lol.

  • Did you see any Megatrons? Not the green Armada one, the silver tank :)

    • Silver tank? I do not know the existence of a Megatron that transforms into a vehicle.

      • Gen2 Megs was a green tank, as is Armada megs (Looks more like Scorpinok) CW Megs & CW Armada Megs are both tanks.
Went down to Myer Marion, SA. Only basic first wave CW's :(

        • Megatron is a leader class. Didn't see any at Myer.

If you're just looking for stock and not worried about price, Toys r us has them. Or had, didn't see the silver one in the store I went to. Target may have had it too but I think they're sold out as well.

Both stores have 20% off all toys every now and then (it was on at Target when I first saw the figures release).

Toys r us have a lot of masterpiece ones hidden in the glass displays behind the counter too which are awesome, but expensive.

They also have spaceship megatron :)

          http://www.toysrus.com.au/transformers-prime-voyager-assorte…

I'm not sure pistol megatron has been sold in Au by a big store because of gun/toy gun laws requiring a orange tip on the tip of the barrel. Sure other gun toys can be found without the orange tip but I don't think they're legal.

There's a transformers forum with store sightings and Australia is one of the sub boards in that if you're really interested in searching for stuff. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-sightings/87156-a…

And they say Big W just got the wave 2 Deluxe figures.

  • Why arent these on the Myer website?

    • Never mind the website, they aren't even on the shelves!

Went in today to look for the legends figure after I found out it's an accessory to the big robot.

Only the big ones on the shelves.

Took a photo of the sign so they could type in the exact title to search their system and it said they had a decent amount so the sales assistant went out back to look for them and came back with a cardboard box with seemingly their entire allotment.

  • I was lucky and got all deluxe models and the Voyager for Superion in one hit, most deluxe were the last ones on the shelf, Plenty of Voyager ones in Fountaingate

    • Oh nice!

I didn't even cross my mind to go look for wave 2 figures whilst the Myer offer was still on…
