Will devices from the UK work with an adapter for australia

  • There may be some risk, but as the UK voltage is 230 V 50hz there shouldn't be any problems. Wikipedia thinks UK electricity suppliers can work with an asymmetric voltage tolerance of 230 V+10%-6% (i.e. up to 253 V), and there is a continuing deviation in the UK from the 230 V EU standard meaning light bulb manufacturers have to produce seperate 230 V and 240 V versions.     Also, many devices these days allow an input voltage ranging from 110-250v, meaning they can be used almost anywhere. If you do get it then have a look at the sticker that specifies the input voltage… this may be either on the device itself, of if it has an external power supply like phone chargers then the sticker would be on that.

  • Should be fine.. you'll just need a UK to Australia travel adapter..
    the UK plug is very bulky so it's going to stick out from the wall a LONG way!
