Cheap flights to Luang Prabang, Laos?

Hi everybody,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm doing a big South East Asia trip in June to August this year. I was going to give Laos a miss (been there a year ago) but I'll be traveling with others who haven't.

I'm thinking of flying in to Luang Prabang for a few days. I'll be traveling in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam so I could potentially do a return trip from Bangkok, Siem Reap, Ho Chi Minh, Da Nang, etc etc.

Cheapest flights I've seen are $277. Is there such thing as super cheap flights to Luang Prabang? Under $100?

Any advice is appreciated.

    if you are travelling via Bangkok the Bangkok Airlines discovery pass could work

    You need a minimum of 3 trips to buy the discovery pass. example fares include

    Bangkok to Luang Prabang 120usd
    LP to Vientiane 70usd
    Vientiane to Siem Reap 120usd
    Vientiane to saigon 120usd

    $220 seems to be about the cheapest return from Bangkok with Bangkok Airlines.

    Plenty of availability.

    Looks like @suti has the cheapest way. I'll look into it.

    @madmouse58 I can leave from anywhere on-route. Anywhere in Southern Thailand or anywhere in Cambodia or Vietnam.
