I thought only solid sterling silver was stamped "925", not plated or filled items?

    • +2

Bingo. 925 is solid sterling, plated is NOT 925. It is generally plated over a metal such as copper.

Total rubbish here, and fake jewelry. Avoid like the plague.

EDIT - For anyone curious, the 925 refers to a silver content of 92.5% in the product. The remainder is made up of an alloy. So if something is silver plated, as with the product advertised here, there is no justification for stamping it with 925. Pure lies.

Thanks for the Clarification , you are correct about what 925 sterling silver means.
we did actually mention clearly in our description here that it's plated, and on our website clearly in red to avoid confusion.
I don't think selling silver plated jewellery is rubbish otherwise stores like Lovisa would not be so popular.
We said it in our descriptions, and we'll say it here again:

Our items are plated with a thick layer of 925 sterling silver. They are not filled with 925 sterling silver, they are plated with it.

Once again, thank you for the definition of 925 sterling silver; much appreciated!

All questions and queries are welcome, we're happy to clarify anything for you guys :)

Don't think it is clear at all. When you click the link it doesn't say 'plated'. Everything is listed as 925 silver until you open each item. Very misleading.

        • +2

Ok, my question is if it's plated, why is it stamped 925?

        • +3

Only SOLID sterling silver shoud be referred to as "925". Silver plated or silver filled items are not, and should not, be referred to as "925 STERLING SILVER"

Such as: "925 STERLING SILVER ROSE STUD EARRINGS FLOWER EARRING WOMEN GIRL FILLED" SHOULD be described as "SILVER PLATED ROSE STUD EARRINGS FLOWER EARRING WOMEN GIRL"

Using "925 STERLING SILVER ROSE STUD EARRINGS FLOWER EARRING WOMEN GIRL FILLED" is misleading and keyword spamming.

To succeed in business, you have to be honest about your products.
Fashion jewellery is fine, for anyone who wants it - but sell it as such and not try to mislead people into thinking they are getting something different.

Thank you for your comment. We mentioned on this ad that our items are plated, as well on each product page, in red, that the items are plated.
If you're interested in silver plated jewellery, then you're more than welcome to buy from our website. If you are interested in genuine silver filled items, then unfortunately we don't sell these items.
Thank you again for your comment.

Have to agree that the 925 on the website is misleading. OP you should really just remove that completely. Nothing wrong with selling silver plated jewellery but honesty and transparency goes a long way in business.

As above, fake specifications being supplied to mislead and deceive. Stay clear.

Not to mention the pathetic discount and ridiculous amount of items required to be purchased to get that discount.

    Try spamming somewhere else.

    Still says "925"!

Obviously OP doesn't want to change it.

  • I now wonder if they are closing down as no longer mentioned on the website.
