looks like it is a bargain. But seems like the price of single unit has been raised… eventually the cost equals to the 4 tyres?

    • for the people who want to replace the tyres, JAXTYRES is also doing the same promotion, but the price is much much more reasonable.

Worse off for me. 225/45 R18 Michelin Pilot Sport 3 @$384ea on site with 1 free so $1152 for 4. I got a set from tyresplus for $260ea (Total $1040) last month. They also have Pilot supersports for $449ea but tyresplus had them for $300ea.
Even worse is that they have Priimacy 3 ST for $535ea. Tyresplus had them for $275ea.

It looks like their prices are old because tyresplus said that size had come down in price a lot from when I changed 1.5 years ago because it is more common.

With tyres, best to call around for prices as they can differ greatly from dealer to dealer.

I agree that you should call dealers prior to making any decisions in your purchase. However, i should point out that perhaps the deal you had might have been once off?

I have checked the tyre plus website prices for the size you have mentioned

      http://www.tyreplus.com.au/products/car-tyres/michelin-pilot…

it shows that currently they are retailing at $339 per unit.

Taking into consideration Michelin is also running the buy 4 tyres get $100 back with a chance to win a trip to malaysia,

      http://www.tyreplus.com.au/news/michelin-tyres-promotion/

the calculation should be as follow,

      ($339 x 4)-$100 = $1256

Vs $1152 for 4 that you have pointed out earlier from tyresales.

Again for the pilot super sport, the starting price tyre plus is advertising according to their website is $389 per unit.

      http://www.tyreplus.com.au/products/car-tyres/michelin-pilot…

Assuming the same promo Michelin is running with $100 cash back, the total cost is $1456.

Tyresales total as per website is only $1347.

      http://www.tyresales.com.au/buy/tyre/michelin/pilot_super_sp…

Hence this is not a neg?

      • i am no way associated with tyresales.com.au and please do your own research / comparo before buying from tyre sales

Tyresplus specifically states near the top of the prices that all prices shown are manufacturer's reccomended price and to please call dealer for local price. All tyre dealers I've been to charge less than rrp.

That means tyre sales is charging more than MRRP.

I was told it wasnt a special. They even told me I could wait a week to see if it was on special next month but couldn't wait as I had punctured 2.

    • You are correct though for the primacy 3 st as tyre sales is selling way more expensive even with the promo they are running. Total is $1605 and tyre plus is $1256 after $100 rebate.

You're doing a lot of work for someone 'not associated'..!! Tyre lover, perhaps……?

No deal. I have a CX-5 that has 225/55/R19 Toyo Proxes R36 tyres. A deal that was largely mocked a few days ago, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/191195, Tyroola has them on their web sites for $306 each. Tyresales is listing the same tyres for $438 each. Tyroola buying 4 @ $306 each is $1224. Tyresales buy 3 @ $438 is $1314. And tyresales.com.au have the cheek the have this statement under the price "These heavily discounted prices are only available online with Tyresales.com.au"……

Tmj, Also I noticed at your linked Jax that they have a $50 eftpos card if you purchase 4 Michelin 16" or below and $100 17" or above!

checked prices on the promotion in 225/45/18. No deals better than advertised elsewhere.

I've also had a pretty poor customer service experience previously with tyresales

Made an initial enquiry and didnt get a response. Said something on their facebook page and was told id get a call. State manager rang me up and promised someone would be in touch with me.

    Nothing.

    I'll give them a miss

Meh, terrible "deal". I bought a set of bridgestone RE003 a couple of weeks ago for $395 fitted. Tyresales want $711 for the older, superseded RE002 in exact same spec. 5 minutes on the phone to jax, bob jane, kmart tyres, anyone else will probably score you a better deal, especially since "buy 3 get 1 free" is sponsored by the manufacturer, not the retailer.

Rubbish promo. ACCC should be contacted. All they've done is jack up the price to give you 1 tyre free.
