Agriculture Machinery Spare Parts

I'm looking to source PTO parts and yokes, not sure where to start with. If there is anyone in forum who has some experience or business related, please advice me.

  • Bareco: http://www.bareco.com.au/files-pto2002-index - Usually have most things associated with PTO's (and just about everything else!) but you may have to go through an agent.
SPAREX: http://v2.au.sparex.com/Default.aspx - Lots of stuff. Again, you may have to go through an agent.

Both companies have parts for both new and old tractors. Even some of the older stuff (like my 1958 Fordson) can be found at both places. Common PTO parts like yokes, joints, spline adapters, shafts and safety guards are usually stocked as standard equipment at your local tractor dealer and these are mostly supplied by Bareco. Bareco are an Australian company (as far as I am aware) that has been around for a long time and have a good reputation.

Disclaimer: No, I don't work for either company nor am I a dealer. Just a small farmer with really old machinery :)

    • Freight on heavy items (like PTO stuff) from the USA is ridiculously high. This site appears to be in the USA and even then, the site is not complete. Look at the "customer service" page which is full of "ipsum blah blah blah", the usual gibberish used to fill in a web page when you having to put in the template. Makes me wonder what their "customer service" actually is. Have you actually bought anything from these people and if so, what was the weight and freight charge? Or was this just a web surfing exercise?

      • ya website is crap, but I found a supplier from India for PTO shafts. It looks promising, I'm placing order with him for couple of pieces. Lets see how it go.

        • Certainly worth looking at. Watch out for the local import charges though as they can be a killer. As an example, my younger brother imported a small trenching machine from China for $1705 (AUD) which also included $33 (USD) for freight to Fremantle (WA). Here's the additional charges he had to pay here in Oz:
GST and Au Customs entry $237.97
          DAFF Assessment. Fee $50.00
          Customs clearance fees $138.90
Delivery (port to freight forwarder) $85.00
          Destination Port Charges $483.90
          Delivery order fee $77.00
          CMR Fee. $12.00
          GST $84.68
TOTAL FOR FREIGHT AUSTRALIAN CHARGES ,$1169.45

The additional costs here almost defeats the savings made by importing the machine himself.

Good luck with the PTO shafts.
