Sending AUD to Oversea Bank Account

I've had a brief look but couldn't find my answer. (that less then 6 months old)

I would like to research the best way to Send AUD over-sea
I found http://www.bestexchangerates.com.au/

Paypal Is easy but Fees are woefull
Ozforex look like the best deal - ING prefer international Forex conversion provider

but 2 day to OzForex 4 days to hit USA banks

I am applying for citibank Plus account to see if the rate are better.
Has any one else use them ?

Any other ideas ?

All depends on how much money you are sending, if large sums - then worth finding a better deal. If small sums, it becomes a bit of a waste of time.
All the FX rates would be fairly competitive, with Ozforex pretty good.

  • I find currencyonline.com have better rates than ozforex everytime. It really depends on where you are sending the money to, because currencyonline has less currencies compared to ozforex.

  • Try http://www.currencyfair.com/

I have used them couple of times and they are excellent. You can pick the existing rate or can also ask for a better rate.

They have the best FOREX rate with no additional charges and there is no middle man. They are better than OxForex.

    Good luck!!

I use ozforex and find them pretty good for sending money to/from the UK.

There is a referral for $50 Itunes voucher for both of us if you want to pm me (need your email you are signing up with).

    http://refer.ozforex.com.au/micro/ozforex?source=oz_get_quot…

On UK site you get a 50GBP Amazon gift card if you sign up there (usual Aussie rip off !)

The transfer times are probably dependent on the bank processing times as you pay into their account and they pay out from it into the o/seas account. I would have thought any exchange will be similar. Same day transfer from you to them means they will probably process onwards next business day, but who knows, keeping your money for an extra day earns interest for them.

  • this really needs to be added to a FAQ in finance section or something.

  • Have you tried Moneygram?

  • I've used ozforex before. If you call them, most of the time you can get better rate depending on how much you're sending

  • Any Feed back on setting up bank account to make cheap/fast transfer , I dont really want to send money to a middle man then wait for them to forward it to the destination
