  Hi GFA,

  Yes, we did look at products like those and some car manufacturers have an extendable section that slides out from the car's sun visor, but one problem we found was that they are difficult to retract in a hurry (e.g. if you need to quickly look at traffic lights or street signs) and they could distract you from driving safely or, worse still, even hit you in the head!

  ermahgerd. i've been looking for something like this for ages!
  i've tried modifying those window socks, sun visor attachments…this is brilliant.

  do you guys have plans to make a version for cars with frameless windows or plastic trim?

    Hi tdw,

    I forgot to mention that on cars with frameless doors, you can usually cut a plastic shape and slot it in the folds of the door seal - when the door is closed, it's held quite securely.

  Thanks!

  Our current design won't suit frameless windows as there's nothing for the shade to hold on to, but we are thinking of solutions for doors frames covered with plastic trim, although this is currently only a small proportion of cars on the road.

  We've worked out that Joopy Sun Shade suits all of the top 10 passenger cars sold in Australia in 2014 (excluding utes, but it will likely work for them as well).

  got my shade today. was pleasantly surprised to find that because it has such strong magnets, it does actually work with my car which has a steel roof bar covered by plastic trim. good work Joopy! :D
