  • What resolution do you game on?

Plus you do realise that (unless you've already got them) an OS + monitor + keyboard + mouse is separate right?

    • yep, not worrying bout os, keyboard, etc just need the pc itself
Haven't got a monitor yet though, so dont know what res i will game on
      Thanks

      • are you comfortable with building your own pc? I'm happy to suggest a config if you're up for going down that path.

Also, what's your maximum budget (including the monitor)?

Check the Whirlpool Wiki for recommended builds
    http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/rmp_sg_whirlpoolpcs_gaming_conf…

    Some notes…

    1. Building by yourself is the way to go if you want to lower cost, as computer shops put an extra margin on prebuilt systems, and they will also charge for assembling a system.

    2. Prebuilt systems are time saving options but you may not get the exact parts you want, and very rarely will you get the best combination of parts. You may not be able to change the parts prior to order. They may include parts that may not represent the best value (e.g not the optimal build). There is still sometimes a 'waiting period' where they will run out of parts and will need to wait until they get more until they complete your build.

    3. The third option is to use "build to order" whereby you pick a list of in-stock parts from the vendor and they build according to your spec. All the big-name computer shops do this. For MSY, you need to add everything into your cart and checkout the item, then contact MSY regarding the order. For UMART, there is a PC building page. (need to select the relevant store in the UMART homepage first before you visit this page though, otherwise you will order from the wrong store).

For other stores, you can just email their customer service and ask them to put something together for you.

    Neither. They're garbage.

Also was wondering if GTA V can run on any of the 2 PC's.

No. Not at anything approaching an enjoyable experience.

AMD hasn't been relevant in the CPU market for gamers for a long time now and that specs list is highly convoluted and vague (no motherboard model, no PSU model, no RAM kit model or HDD model). Looks like a Yum-Cha special to me.

Do what Scrimshaw said above and look at Whirlpool's PC Gaming configs and build it yourself. Source the parts from MSY.

  • Do NOT, repeat, DO NOT buy one of those cheap Ebay "gaming" PC's. They use the cheapest parts and those graphics cards are well below the minimum requirements of most new games. Total rip-off.

If you want a cheap gaming PC and don't want to make it yourself, by far your best bet is the Alienware Alpha:
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-tablets/desktops/alienwa…

It's not a powerhouse but it's a quality brand with quality components and has been shown to be at least as good as the new consoles at playing games. And it would run circles around those ebay PC's.

If you want to spend a bit more on a good prebuilt system, check out:
    http://www.pccasegear.com
They make a good system and are probably Australia's most popular and trusted system builders.

  • You wouldn't be able to play gta 5 with those specs, they're terrible. I'd suggest increasing your budget, building your own computer, and buying something much more worthwhile
