Cheap Health Insurance -Please help me

Hi OZ Bargainers!!!

I've been following this site for a few months and know that you can find the best deals. I need your help to find the cheapest (but with good service/quality) health insurance for a couple (young adults). I'd like a medium or top cover that includes/covers everything, it's OK if I have to pay excess and co-payment but I'd prefer cheaper premiums.

Currently I have a Medibank cover with Top Hospital and medium extras, but it's becoming too expensive and would like something cheaper. I've been looking online and found that other health funds cover the same things on a Medium level cover and cheaper than Medibank does on Top Hospital.

Also, I have Medicare and usually don't get sick. I've never used the extras with my current insurance. Is it worthy to keep an Extras insurance? I know some major dental are covered on the only hospital cover. Is it a good idea just to have a Hospital cover?

I know that there are websites to compare, but I checked and in most of them you have to give your phone and I'd really like to avoid the sales' people hassle.

Please help me find a good deal :)

  • Just put in zeroes as your phone and only enter your email.

Betterbills (an aggregator) was good the last time I checked, but shop around on actual sites as well. If you don't use Extras, no point keeping them.. (though it's generally a good idea to go for the usually-free twice-yearly dental clean!)

    • Thanks! I checked better bills and it does not require the phone to give me the quote, which is good :)

However, while checking on the gov's website I found another health fund. Have you heard of Health Partners? It seems cheaper than all the others I've found online. Is it a good health fund?

  • bupa, get cheapest extras, no hospital. i paid $8.50 fortnightly!~

  • Thanks! Sounds cheap, still thinking if continue with extras.
