Can someone please enlighten me on what's the attraction with these Qantas Pub invites being sold for $50 a pop?
$50 buys a reasonable meal with alcohol of your choice at the airport. It's crowded half the time, the food is nothing special and the alcohol range is fairly limited.
I'm a man, as such I feel fine after not showering for two and a half days.
Most half good international airports have shower facilities anyway.
Great bathroom facilities , SHOWER . Quiet , and a selection of FOOD and coffee and drinks.RELAXING

If it's the arrival lounge or just about to hop on to your next long haul flight as pax says, I do see the benefit - I'll go as far as saying it's a godsend especially after a long trip. If it's just at the start of your journey possibly not. Let's be honest, the food and drinks kinda suck in QP, the business lounge is definitely better but you will need to be a oneworld sapphire or flying J.
Live in Hobart. Have to transfer to go anywhere international. Catch a 9 hour red eye and arrive back in Australia.

Picture this…. you've just hopped off a 13 hour flight from London with another 9-10 hour left on the next hop.
You are covered in "airplane", and could do with a hot shower, uncrowded and a meal.
Suddenly that $50 seems well spent.
