EMOTICONS Please Please Help Suggest Safest Download Site

I really want to download emoticons to send with my emails on Microsoft Outlook 10 and previous ones I tried came w adware, spyware addons etc…that I had to delete altogether. Have now researched the internet again and cannot find a safe site. Can anyone lead me to the safest site to download or link explaining how to access them? I tried a right click /copy image (.gif) and paste as instructed. It seems this is the safest way rather than download the link. The animated .gif emoticon appears on my email letter but is a still image. The animations do not move! Tried sending it to myself and the animations still do not move when I open up the email. Any help is appreciated!

  • Outlook 10 as in Outlook 2010?

If so, I'm pretty sure it doesn't render animated Gifs. So even though the pictures animate in your browser, they won't in your emails if you just copy/paste or save/insert them unless you open your mail in a browser.

And yes, pretty much 100% of "emoticon" install software will be full of adware/spyware - it's a common target because people who are after these things usually don't have high levels of computer proficiency.

You might just have to stick with non-animated emoticons. And if so, the best way to add them is as you described…find them online in your browser and copy/paste the image. No spyware/adware that way!

    • Many thanks for the advice.

    ummmmmmmmmmm is this 2015?
    Is this real life??

    • …and why is it in the "Gaming" section?

Stay away from free screensaver, wallpaper and emoticon/smiley software it is riddled with the worst kind of malware.

Additionally, and I know you didn't solicit this advice, but I will share it anyway: don't litter your emails with smileys and animated images. To friends it can be annoying and in a professional context it is a huge no-no.
