Waterproofing Battery Pack for Video Recording

Hi All,

I know the battery packs are a common item that are posted here on Ozbargain, so wondering if anyone has any experience in waterproofing them.

For our soccer club we have a Ghost (Go Pro equivalent) which we stick behind a goal and record continuously. The battery needs changing once or twice a day to ensure it keeps recording. We've discovered it can record whilst being connected to a Battery Pack/Power Brick.

So, ideally we'd have the power brick continually connected to the Ghost to unsure it's charging and recording all day, but we're a bit worried about water getting into the internals of both the battery back, and the camera itself.

Any advice would be appreciated

  • wouldn't you also need to weather proof the camera while you're plugged into it?

    • how is the camera mounted?

  • a picture would really help us here

  • You could store the battery pack in an enclosure like this. Drill a hole for the cable and later seal it with silicone or something.

  • Is it a drift HD ghost? If so something this 2 battery pack /charger from amazon http://www.amazon.com/Wasabi-Power-Battery-Charger-Ghost-S/d… would work (obviously the australian version
