Help: Suggestions for Convection Microwave - Reqd Urgently

My 10yo Microwave just died & im getting sick of eating tuna from a can so need a lil help. Looking for a replacement unit ASAP & ive already spent today hunting online.

Any suggestions for a reasonable convection microwave? Looking for around 28-32L(preferably 32L), has grill(convection) function, Stainless Steel if possible, budget of around $250, a lil room for negotiations. Doesn't seem to be any bargain's going currently :(
Looked into the Kogan 28L @ $139 + $60 delivery(32L currently out of stock) but im concerned about the warranty, looks like return postage/delivery cost is not covered & is around $60 each way to/from WA :0

1, 2, 3, Go…

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Got the larger Kogan -very happy with it for the last 2 years. Just follow the instructions on the front page and many times in the manual, where it says not to leave the glass plate in when using convection or it will crack. Yep it certainly does, but luckily it has standard generic plate, ring and impeller parts so that you can reuse those bits from old microwaves.

  • We have a Sharp medium sized one. Highly recommend it. (BTW ours has a ceramic plate and that stays in all the time, even with oven or grill function. Can't see anything in the manual about removing it).

Unfortunately cant see any bargains on it at the moment. 2nds World have them on special sometimes. Will let you know if I see one discounted.

  • I happened to be bored this afternoon and read some advertising catalogues. I found a SHARP Convection Microwave advertised at Harvey Norman for $269 (plus a BONUS 4 piece food storage container set). I see that there is a single review of 5 stars for the product. It is a 'mid-sized' convection microwave according to SHARP. See: http://www.harveynorman.com.au/sharp-double-grill-convection…

  • Stick to Sharp or Panasonic, don't buy Kogan's cheap rubbish chinese made goods.

  • I need help too. Anyone had any experience with the Panasonic combi steam ovens? Either the NN-CS894S or the NN-DS592B. Or any other manufacturers that make a good one.

I've been so burnt with Panasonic though and I am so XXXXing sick of buying appliances I am unable to see instore, and then find they are just rubbish. Like my last two panasonic inverter microwaves, my last two fridges, my gas upright. In fact I don't have a single major appliance in my kitchen I don't think is just shXX. But trying to find something that isn't, price irrespective is just so hard. And can never find places in store. Like the NN-CS894S - you can't find a store in Brisbane who has even heard of it, let alone stock it. Sure they can get one in if you buy it but I got burnt too much seeing that.
