Purchased and Downloaded Wrong Software on Amazon (Elements Premier Vs Elements)

So here I am going along with life thinking I am not a complete Fu** wit. I generally manage to get through the day without smashing my face
into a wall by accident. I even manage to not forget to breath. But today I did it. In a fit of stupidity I ordered Adobe Elements from US amazon. No worries.
I opened it up, put and I had bought the Elements Premier( US$70) . If anyone thinks this is the nice upgraded version of Elements then laugh out loud because it
is to edit video!! yes video, so the photos from my nice new Nikon 5300 can sit on my hard drive for that much longer.

Has any ozbargainer ever been in this situation before?? If you have then please help this absolute freakin retard out of the self dug hole he worked himself into.

In my defence I had 5 young kids home and inside all day (freezing here) and I had a mild headache all day. I now have a much bigger headache…

    Get amazon to call you and explain the situation to them. They should be willing to refund your purchase as long as it's the first time this has happened.

    I've been in a similar situation in the past and they sorted it out in under 2mins once I got on the phone. Live chat won't work, only calling will.

    Are you sure you should be looking after five young kids?

    On a slightly less serious note, you need to get the actual product names clear in your head, it will be helpful when you sort this out with Amazon.

    Elements isn't a product, it's Adobe's synonym for "Lite" or "Home Edition". Adobe have two products with Elements variants:

    • Photoshop - the image editing program
    • Premiere - the video editing program

    Finally, there's also the version number, which the latest is version 13.

    From what you've written, it's obvious you want the latest Photoshop Elements, so to make that clear when talking to Amazon, simply refer to it as:

    Adobe Photoshop Elements 13

    That way they'll immediately know exactly what program and version you want.

    Thanks very much for all your advice. I contacted them and they refunded my money straight away. I then bought the right program straight away. The experience helped me feel very happy about amazon. It is nice to have such a behemoth of a company do the right thing, even though I was entirely at fault and made a mistake.
