MONSTER Earphone Lifetime Warranty Help, Any Audiophiles out There?

HI Ozb,

Bought some monster copper pros off ebay. Seller has high feedback but absolutely sh*t at replying in hindsight. Anyway bought them, got them and now (2 years later) the housing is starting to come off revealing the wiring. Monster has a lifetime warranty and a 1 per person free replacement. I cant get a hold of the seller to get their original receipt. Monster wont honour the replacement without a receipt. Is there any way of salvaging and getting a replacement?

Doesn't eBay keep a record of your purchases?

    • A series of events has led to me being unable to log into that ebay account or remember the damn email i used.

      • If you cannot prove your purchase, I don't think they'd allow replacement like that, though, check with email company on whether they could give your password back or contact eBay about the incident. They might be able to pull something out for you.

If you cannot prove your purchase at all, you'd probably need to go down the DIY path. If it is simply the housing and doesn't affect how it sounds, super glue or duct tape it (though, if you do that, I think you might end up not being able to replace the unit from the company). There is a rehousing option for earphones that use BA but, knowing the reputation of Monster, I seriously doubt they would've used BA. I personally wouldn't think that it's worth that much trouble to rehouse as well, unless you've paid a hefty amount of money.
