I just took the plunge on a sweet deal for a SP3
Paid $1600 for the i7/256/type cover/case/128SD card - winner :)
Would like a dock for the desktop - don't want to use the SP3 screen
Just plug into monitor, kb&m, usb back-up drive and printer
MS sell a dock for the SP3 but it is $280
Was thinking maybe a generic usb3 dock would be just as good?
Does anyone have a USB dock they can recommend?

Apparently it can support up to 4 monitors over USB 3.
It has USB Powershare and DC out for Dell Latitude and XPS, but not sure if your SP3 can charge from them. But it will handle your monitor, keyboard, mouse, printer, backupdrive etc.
I got mine for around $100 from Graysonline. Dell also do a similar dock but without the Monitor stand - but it tends to go for more $$$.
