Android Phone for around $100? Best Mobile Plans/Provider??

Hello everyone,

After 2 years of being disconnected, I have to get a phone in the next few days. I really don't want to spend much more than $100. I'll be making calls practically never, texting occasionally and using the internet pretty regularly I'd say. I do really like Android phones and I'm looking for a cheap month to month plan. I was considering Boost and their $100 View 5.0 phone but I read some reviews of the actual company, and I'm a little concerned now. I was also considering buying a 2nd hand S2 or something similar, but not sure I want to be running all over Melbourne this weekend. I've only owned a Samsung Galaxy s2, so I don't really know about the other android providers these days.

I'd love some advice and suggestions!

thanks

Huawei Y550, 45$ at HN. Unlock through bagman for ~2$.

  • lol /drop the mic

    • Specs on that seem pretty average. The Y550 would've been better

  • Can anyone recommend a plan provider? I'm thinking either Boost $40 Unlimited, Optus $2 days, or Virgin.

Hey mate why not buy the Y550 for $94 from harvey norman using the $5 off code port your number over to vodafone for the first month using the included $50 sim pack from vodafone then after first month port to boost which is the best prepaid going.
saves you $40 first month instead of going straight to boost who id recommend more then anything else.

      • Tops! I like your thinking bud, thanks

I've also found them brand new for like $70 on gumtree as well, so thats always an option

After seeing its been on sale for $45 a number of times, the ozbargain in me won't let me come close to buying it at $94!
