eBay Sale - Buyer Registered their Account today

I have listed same item multiple times on Ebay and today 4 pieces were sold.

Upon careful observation I noticed that the the payment has been received from the same individual however they have purchased items using 4 accounts. I also identified that all accounts have been made today.

I am now thinking that this buyer is scam and going to lodge Paypal dispute after receiving the items (total value less than $100).

How should I proceed in this case?

Report to eBay. Definitely a scam. eBay will ban their accounts and refund your fees.

    • can you please be more specific on why eBay should naru these user ids?

  • How'd you figure out that the payments were made by the same individuals, if you don't mind me asking (I've never sold anything on ebay before)?

    • i'd say that all 4 accounts have the same postal address…

      • Same postal address and payment was received from same Paypal ID.

        • Oh, interesting. Thanks!

Selling members are required to supply the items in the listing as per ebay's user agreement. Members that fail to do So can have their user id limited or even naru.

    • Not if he contacts ebay and they identify it as a scam and tell him not to send it.

OP if the buyer does decide to scam you (which it appears is the case) he not only has the potential to rip you off on 4 items, but to leave 4 lots of negative feedback.

ebay members are allowed to have more than one user id and many do for a number of reasons.

op's post gives no indication that these user ids are part of an elaborate scheme for the purpose of scamming op. setting up four user ids just to try and scam <$100 is waste of time and not very smart.

however these is a possibility that these transactions can leave op out of pocket, but that is always the risk when one chooses to trade online (or offline).

Buyer don't need to be Ebay members to purchase items on Ebay.

Ebay is saying these are Guest accounts and therefore there is no suspicion to believe the buyer is fraud. I will take their words and send items via tracking number.

Buyer don't need to be Ebay members to purchase items on Ebay.

    Ru sure about that

  • Contact Buyer and "offer to deliver in person." See if they duck for cover.
