Getting a New Monitor+Keyboard - Suggestions?

Hi all,

After putting off the idea of buying AIO, I decided to get a new monitor around 23 inch or more. Though there are so many brands with huge price range and am at a loss (no idea which to go for…). My budget is around 300.

My current laptop only has 1 VGA port and 1 mini display port.

Not a gamer, however, would prefer to get a decent HD resolution. Something that's comfortable to look at for more than 4 hours straight would be great.

I know MSY is having 10% off monitor at the moment. I don't know much about monitors - but contrast ratio, resolution, response rate seem be important factors to take into account.

Also looking for decent wireless keyboard as I cant use my smiley lenovo keyboard with an external monitor.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • +1

IPS, flicker free & matte (not glossy) good features for long periods of viewing I reckon.

If you aren't a gamer and you are not doing colour sensitive work, it doesn't matter what kind of monitor you buy. There's no need for uber fast refresh rate or 120hz panels or a wide colour gamut IPS panel… just buy a cheapo display.

If you want to splurge, buy yourself a nice mechanical keyboard — a good one should last you ages and provide a lot of typing comfort. The sale on MSY is still on and there is 20% off Steelseries products.
