    are these shoes good?

    • Absolutely. They've had this close out sale for months now.

Durianrider reviewed some Altras, he is a very fit active fitness guy on YT

  • They are good but you need be careful as they are zero drop, in other words the heel is the same level as the forefoot (normal running shoes are 10-12mm.), so not for everyone
So if you are used to "normal" shoes and start running in these it will put extra load on your calf /Achilles if you don't take it easy to start with

  • Have had some Altra Lone Peak 2's for a while. I have quite wide feet (2E in many shoes).

The regular 12 D fit so well, its almost unbelievable.

The extra room to splay your toes also seems to improve my speed/stability when trail running.

But I don't find myself running that much faster overall as you need to be mindful of larger stones/rocks due to the thinner soles.

The material is comfortable, but for the Lone Peak 2's is of questionable durability. After only 20-30kms some of the red colouring on the toe-guard appears to be streaking.

That said I only paid around $80AUD when I bought them on sale from Amazon, which is still much cheaper than I could find locally.

Time will tell if they are durable and comfortable when I get to 300-400+ kms.

  • Are the sizes on the website in US or UK/Aus?

  • There's no tracking apparently so can someone tell me how long the items usually take to be delivered?
