What's The Quality Like on Aldi Tools?

They have a special this Saturday with their combination wrench set: https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/special-buys-sat-23-…

I'm not looking for professional grade stuff as I would use this very occasionally. So would this be suitable for a few years or should I spend a bit more on a set like Stanley?

I think it's hit and miss with hand tools. Powered tools are pretty crap overall.

Only way is look at it on a case by case basis.

I have their screwdriver sets and they are much better than Stanley. My hole saw set is excellent, my drill bit set was rubbish.

The wrench- "Made from high quality chrome vanadium steel" I don't think you can go wrong with this one. Buy it and test it, if you don't like it you have 60 days to return it.

    • thanks for your input, we'll find out on Saturday!

Parents got a mitre saw for some DIY around the house, we've used it for around a month and it's stuffed (really poor quality) it's a good thing we could return it. But don't buy the item thinking u will use it later. My tip is buy now, use it for the u want, coz if it does break, u can still return it.

If u buy now, and don't start ur job right away, u could miss ur window to return the item.

  • I have a similar Aldi set, got them maybe 2 years ago at least. Haven't had any issues with them, they have lasted well for the money.

  • Previously bought a square that wasn't square and a level that wasn't level.

Might be ok for putting up a picture or a single shelf, but don't trust them for trades like tiling where 0.5mm out over 500mm can cause massive headaches later in the job.
