Rwanda Inzovu Coop
This sweet, juicy coffee is suited to both light and darker roasts boasting notes of jasmine and vanilla. Inzovu Co-op is a clean cup with a good body and spine and was awarded a cupping score of 88.75 by Brendan and a team of coffee experts at the Rwandan cup of excellence in August this year.
Inzovu is 30 member co-operative. The Co op calls themselves the ‘Urengerekawa’ or in English ‘Let Us Protect Coffee’ and is situated in Nyakabuye of the Ruisizi district, south west of Rwanda. Sitting 1700m high above sea level, Nyakabuye is a place destined for yielding high quality coffee: it has a cool climate without the frost and consistent rainfall.
The coolest thing about Urengerekawa is that all profit, land and labour are shared equally among its members. Taking care of 200 to 4000 coffee trees each, the guys from Urengerekawa are passionate about coffee and take pride in the important role coffee has in maintaining Rwanda’s economic stability. Founded in 2007, by 2009 they had built their own washing station where the coffee is fully washed and sun dried on raised beds and are now exported globally by the RWC (Rwandan trading co.)

Brendan loved this bean and the guys from Urengerekawa enough to bring it back with him from Africa so get the cupping cups out and get excited!

  • what's your most popular blend?

Believe its Bean the fortitude blend as a manna of fact

    • Quadruple shot Fortitude! Are you Manna enough! haha

We're running Fortitude in the Roastery cafe at the moment but a lot of the cafes we supply use Jamocha and the new Cafe Indo blend is quite rich and strong and suited for milk!

As I mentioned before, the Cafe Indo blend is seriously good as an espresso.

  • Hi Mannabeans,

    The description says:
250g Empty valve resealable bags are available for $1 each from the drop down menu below.

However, the drop down box refers to 1x 500g bags.

I will get around to buying some coffee as soon as I get through the 2Kg I have now.

  • Hi Simon, are these suitable for filter / pour-over? If not do you have something else you could substitute?

      Apologies for the late reply.

I have 2 new specialty Indonesians just landed which as a light roast are fantastic for pour over. They're a bit more expensive but happy to do for $69.95 delivered if you want to send funds through paypal to [email protected] and leave notes

      Cheers
      Simon

      • Thanks Simon, I'll send you an email shortly.

Just managed to place an order before you pulled the deal!

The last Rwanda Gihombo Wet Mill beans went through the grinder this morning, so about to drink the first shot of Colombia Nariño from the last deal.
