Best place to sell a Canon 600D (for best $) + how much would you ask?

Evening all, forgive my noob questions in advance >_<

As per the title, I'm considering selling my Canon EOS 600D with 18-55mm lens. 2 years old, in top nick. Box, receipts and all (not that it matters, I suppose).

Would the go-to place to sell it be Gumtree if I want the best price for it? (being a face-to-face transaction of course / no postage dealios)

What should I ask for it? Or what would you ask for it if it were yours? :P

I've had a look at the ones advertised already but I thought I'd consult the family (you guys) first before making any major decisions. Every dollar counts for me, as I'm sure you can all relate ;)

Thankies! <3

  • Have you look the item up on Gumtree and ebay to see what other people are selling it for?

I should've been clearer, sorry. Brain no function good today >_<

I've had a look at the ones on Gumtree already that match mine in criteria, but they appear to vary in price by quite a lot. Hence my reason for asking OzB for a better ball-park figure re: reasonable asking price. Soz.

hey mate, personally id never ask anyone on ozb, we are stingy, we know what stuff is worth, we research well before buying. your actual target market might not.

id just list it on gumtree tbh (list each item separately, lens, camera, flash etc etc.) for a higher amount (e.g. 450), and let people's offers steer you in the right direction.

id be happy if i got 400 for mine

I offloaded mine at cash converters for 300 at the start of the year (I know, what the hell were you thinking). Needed quick cash, couldn't deal with gumtree or ebay. So I'd be looking at at least 400, it's a great camera and has retained it's value. Bought mine about four years ago for 1000

I'm on Gumtree quite a bit, generally speaking they'll go for up to $500 depending on condition/accessories etc. Maybe list as $550 negotiable?

  • I'll give ya 50 bucks for it

  • Try Facebook buy and sell pages, people are stupid on there as to market value, and you will likely get the higher figure. Try for $500 but be prepared to go as low as $400

  • Just wondering why you're selling waterlogged turnip?
