65 Inch FHD LED TV

So I have been looking for a 65 Inch LED TV. Not worried too much about the 'smart' stuff as I will have a HTPC connected to it. I am not fussed about 4K either as all of my content will only be HD anyway.

I have found the Kogan 65 inch and on paper it looks like a good buy considering the specs and the price sub $1000.

Has anyone had experience with this model? The only reviews I can find are for their 4K TVs.

  • I am also in the market for a new TV in this size range - this Kogan is like half the price of even a Hisense or TCL TV, let alone a Samsung or Panasonic.

I kinda know it will suck, because it's a Kogan, but they do have a 14 day return policy: https://www.kogan.com/au/returns-policy/ could buy it, try it out and if after a week or so, it sucks, just return it telling them you're disappointed in the quality and would like to refund it.

  • Suck for what reason? Because its Kogan, or do you think the panel may not be that great in terms of colour/blur etc?

The cheapest equivalent I could find was a TCL or Hisense for around the $1500 mark so at $999 it seems like a really good deal.

  • +2

Wait 2 weeks for the proper EOFY sales in retail, likely see some put on special

  • Does Kogan has a Authorised Service Center in Australia ? or we have to send it back to them if something goes wrong ?

    • back to Melbourne

thats why i'd never buy a big tv from them

      • Not worth getting it then I guess .

  • I can't bring myself to trust Kogan after they offered free phone charging cables and I signed up but it never arrived.

I know it is petty, but I can't get over it. It's a principle thing.

  • Dick smith often has a Seiki UHD set for similar money on sale, I would get that, better brand and ultra hd.
