how is this a deal? get ripped off 4 times to get $10 tickets..
Most People can get cheap tickets from their Mobile Provider (who uses voda now anyway..)

    https://www.yestickets.com.au/

    • RACQ has $11 … lol im with VAYA

      • you deserve to pay full price…. haha

    • It could be a deal for some people who watch movies in the cinema often and are not with Telstra or Optus as ISPs.

Also, this deal is for Event Cinemas only which means people who are on Optus do not get $10 tickets for them (only Hoyts/Reading Cinemas and some random ones). It can be a problem for those who have Event Cinemas nearby and not Hoyts, so this could be a deal for them.

But of course, if you don't fall into those categories and you're with Telstra/Optus and live near Event Cinemas/(Hoyts/Reading Cinemas) respectively then the $10 deal is much better than this given the flexibility.

not with telstra or optus? buy a $2 SIM card and you will be

        • Does it actually work with $2 Telstra SIM?

        • +1

@ronnknee: course it does, you are a telstra customer

    • You don't have to pay full price 4 times to get the $10 tickets.

    • $11 tickets* for the Priceline Sister Club, also free to join.

      *not anymore!

  • For those who don't already know, if you're with Telstra (Bigpond) or Optus you can get $11 and $10 movie tickets respectively by purchasing tickets though their respective websites. Not sure about other ISPs

    EDIT: what tuzii said.

  • The lamest thing about buying these tickets is that you have to pay a booking fee $1.50 for Events when booking online.

I don't get why they charge for that

    • +2

Usually those fees don't have a "real" reason, they're just a way of "pretending" they are charging $10 instead of $11.50.

For some reason, our brains think $10 plus $1.50 fee is cheaper than $11.50.

But once the deal is activated, you'll get 1/6 value of a ticket if you are a cinebuzz member. You get half that for Telstra and Yes tickets…

So buy the tickets via Telstra and Yes now, until August, then take advantage of 100% cinebuzz points during that month…

    • Yes. Using this or Cinebuzz Movie of the Week gives 100 points which makes the ticket $8.40. Optus/Telstra only gives 50 points, which gives you $9.20

  • Let me get this straight… assuming you can even find 4 movies worth watching, then they expect you to be able to find a 5th? And you'll have paid about $100 for it?

  • Event cinemas down the road is still $8.50 per adult for tickets

    • and for everyone else gumtree for $10

    • Which Event Cinemas is that? Burwood is around $20.

      • Brisbane, We also have cineplex which is around $8.50 as well

  • I tried getting a $2 Optus sim quite awhile ago but it won't activate for optus yestickets. I remember having a conversation with their customer service via email and apparently I have to do a topup before I can be eligible.
