Car Leasing In Europe 2016

Have decided to lease a car in Europe (Approx 8 week July 2016 - Sept 2016). Have done a search and there appears to be multiple companies to choose from mostly using French Car makers. I would preferably like to deal with an Australian company to arrange

Has anyone leased a car and give me some info ie Pros, Cons, recommendations and when I should book to get the best deals

Thanks

Colin

Just to clarify, you want an 8 week lease contract, rather than traditional car rental?

Car rental, when done right, can be pretty cheap in Europe. It can go as low as ~10 euros/day.

  • A lease gives me a brand new car with insurance, roadside assistance included. I think there is a lot less chance of having a problem with a brand new car also.

    • I don't have much info for a lease of a brand new car for 8 weeks. It's not something most companies would offer. Plus, if you want a really brand new car, you'll pay through the nose.

Car rental is where it's at. You'll want excess insurance no matter which option you choose, and rental cars tend to be fairly new and are well maintained anyhow.

Check out Money Saving Expert for their suggestions on car rental and the sites they recommend.. At the very least then you've got a benchmark to compare an 8 week new car lease against.

  • When I rented a car last October I used holidayautos

had a peugot 207 for 20 days which cost $637.

ok car. racked up 5,500 kms. it sat on 140km/h on the autobahn with no problem.

  • I ordered earlier this year through autoeurope a Fiat Panda sized vehicle for 5 weeks including insurance, pickup Venice and drop off Rome for AUSD870. I have used them before with no problems, but in Europe to get the best deals you have to book early…….rental company is Europcar.
