XIAOMI 5000mAh Lithium-Polymer Power Bank from Allbuy/Tmart US$9.98 (AU$13 Via PayPal) Delivered

830

Only Silver or Pink available from this store.

I will add another store with this Power Bank on sale for a similar price, in other colours, in a few minutes.

Here is the link to TMart - they have all colours available, but only for two days, at US$9.99 delivered. Blue, Rose, Gold, Silver, and Black.

Mod: please see comments here some users have suspected these may not be genuine, proceed with caution.

OP: The Xiaomi 5000mAh Power Bank I received from AllBuy.com was genuine. The two Xiaomi 5000mAh Power Banks I received from Tmart.com were counterfeits (fakes).

This model Xiaomi is super thin, and about the size of an iPhone. I have one already, and it lasts/charges better than the similar size JUSTONE 6000mAh priced at US$15+
https://www.allbuy.com/detail/122388
http://www.tmart.com/JUSTONE-J076-1-6000mAh-Universal-High-C…

These China/Hong Kong suppliers tend to get the specs/size confused. So here is a link to the official Xiaomi site.

A good choice as it turns out.

I purchased from both stores, because of the different colours available from the stores.

The two Xiaomi 5000mAh Power Banks I received from Tmart.com were counterfeits (fakes).

Want a good powerbank thin and light? apparently this is the thinnest in the world, only issue thats it's only 8000mah, it's very popular and can fit in your pocket with out issues.

    http://www.milkr.com.au

"As the thinnest power bank in the world, the "Power Blade" won the German Red Dot Design Award in 2013. It is so thin that can sit snuggly in your ring binder ready at a moment's notice. When you see how it balances stunning looks with practicality and an astounding battery capacity of 8000mAh, you won't be surprised it won"

At 5.2mm the “Power Blade” is the world’s thinnest power bank, the question everybody is asking is how did we do it? We believe the first step to truly innovating is to forget everything you know and open your mind to fresh ideas. So we redesigned everything from the chipset to the screws, and case to forge a revolutionary blade like thinness.

Don't be fooled by its ultra-thin size – with a 8,000mAh lithium-polymer battery cell, the “Power Blade” got massive capacity. It allows you to fully charge an average smart phone 4.5 times, so you’ll never worry about a dead battery again.

      IT COSTS $150 !!!!

And that must be a biggish pocket as that device measures over 21cm by 14cm in size.

I am thinking it was designed to be used by students with wealthy and endulgent parents (and with schools/Unis etc. that permit mobile phones).

Went into my local post office to pick up a parcel yesterday and they had these verve branded power banks at the counter for only $5.They are only 3000mAh but do have samsung lithium-ion batteries so I grabbed one as I have never tried a power bank before.

    Thanks greaty !!

Well, you were not sold any product in Australia. You imported the item.

In any case, just contact AllBuy. The will respond quickly.

  • Received mine today, definitely a fake.

Received mine today, definitely a fake.

Not kool at all. From where did you purchase your one?

The Xiaomi 5000mAh Power Bank I received from AllBuy.com was genuine.

The two Xiaomi 5000mAh Power Banks I received from Tmart.com were counterfeits (fakes).

I have opened a PayPal dispute.

Tmart are refusing to refund unless I close my PayPal dispute, and pay to return the fakes. Then they claim that they will refund by way of Tmart points. Yeah, right!

      I pointed out that:-

      1) I can't return counterfeit goods.
      2) Australia Post will not accept Lithium Batteries for delivery by AirMail.
      3) There is no SeaMail service to HongKong.
      4) Even if there were no points 1, 2, and 3, the cost of return postage from Australia to Hong Kong is prohibitive.

I have escalated my PayPal dispute to a PayPal claim, and said that I will leave it up to PayPal to decide.

I have found what I believe to be the items I was sent by Tmart, strangely they are rated at 8000mAh on the site where I found them. They are the same size as the ones I received from Tmart (much smaller that genuine Xiaomi ones).

The ones from Tmart had the Mi trademark on the front. They had a 5000mAh rating on the rear, along with some other information (with spacing errors). No mi.com on the rear. No writing on the base. They came in very strange and colourful packaging that was riddled with errors.

      • Tmart-

It seems you received the exact same fake from them.

I opened up an online chat session to let them know I know it's a fake. They said they will get back to me within 2-3 days.

I will only accept a refund from them, otherwise I will open up a paypal dispute on Monday.

        • Tmart-

They said the same to me. No one ever 'got back' to me.

I will only accept a refund from them, otherwise I will open up a paypal dispute on Monday.

I strongly suggest that you open a PayPal dispute now. They can reply to that dispute. This keeps all correspondence visible to PayPal.

If they do not agree to a refund without return of the fake. Escalate the dispute to a claim.

        • @A3Australia:

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt to do the right thing.

Plus I'm lazy open up a PP dispute just in case they do the right thing.

I'll open a PP dispute if I don't get a refund by Monday. Any other offer by them is not acceptable to me.

Hopefully they will reevaluate selling fake goods if everyone complains, but most people won't know/care it's a fake as long as it works.

However they may have worked out that selling fake goods is more profitable than selling genuine products if less than 25% of buyers demand refunds.

        • @JB1:

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt to do the right thing.

Please let me know what happens.

        • @A3Australia:

For sure, most likely my reply will be 'A3Australia you were right all along, I should have opened a PayPal dispute last week!' lol

        • @JB1:

After chatting with them, they agreed to give me a refund on Friday.

I was beginning to doubt them, but just got notified by PayPal that they processed the refund about 5 minutes ago.

The interesting thing was, first they offered credit, I said no. Then offered $5 refund. I said no, what about $10? (since the product works and I couldn't be bothered making a PP claim). They said they will have to get back to me. Then they offered me a full refund! lol

They claimed that their supplier provided them the incorrect item.

Anyway good luck with your claim.

        • @JB1:

Anyway good luck with your claim.

Tmart are still resisting giving a refund in chats and via email.

Other than a ridiculous offer of me returning the fakes at my cost, after closing my PayPal dispute, Tmart are ignoring my PayPal dispute (now escalated to a claim).

Perhaps this is because my order was for two Power Banks.

I have received my order of genuine Xiaomi Power Banks from AllBuy.com

        • @JB1:

They claimed that their supplier provided them the incorrect item.

Yet, they are still promoting and selling these counterfeits.

During one of our chats (last week) they promised me that they would remove them from sale.

  • +1

Just received my powerbank from Allbuy and confirmed to be genuine, cheers OP!

  • I point it out at the beginning of the sale that Tmart power banks are fakes.

But if you can get full refund, it's ok (free power bank)but lots of hassle around it.

Good luck to everyone in this situation.

Ordered June 10 and arrived today. Confirmed genuine via xiaomi site

    • Ordered June 10 and arrived today. Confirmed genuine via xiaomi site

      From AllBuy.com - correct?

  • Received 4 batteries from Tmart. ALL FAKE!!!

Please ban any Tmart items from Ozbargain.

    • Received 4 batteries from Tmart. ALL FAKE!!!

You mean fake Xioami Power Banks?

Are you opening a PayPal dispute?

      • Paypal dispute opened soon after I posted here. I know how these dodgy chinese sellers work (waste time until it's too late to claim). They offered to refund once I'd sent the fake crap back (at my cost of course) via Paypal. I bought 4 of these items. I didn't bother to get in touch with them, they will just waffle and waste time. I copied your text re the items and escalated to Paypal to decide. If Paypal decide in Tmart's favour then I'll no longer trust Paypal and won't ever use them again. Simple really.

How did your claim go with Paypal?

        • How did your claim go with Paypal?

I opened the dispute on June 30th.

After a reply from Tmart, I escalated the dispute to a claim on July 1st.

          "Status
A claims specialist is reviewing your case.
          What happens next
We'll contact you with any developments or if we require additional information from you by 6 Aug 2015."

        • How did your claim go with Paypal?

I received this message from PayPal today:-

"We're happy to let you know that we've now completed our review and have decided Case PP-004-015-826-001 in your favour. Due to the unique circumstances of this case, we're issuing you this refund at no cost to your seller. You'll receive a refund of US$19.78 USD."

So, I am not happy that this refund is coming from our PayPal fees AND NOT from the seller. It appears that Tmart know how to 'work the system'. They get away with selling counterfeit goods, and get to keep the proceeds.

I feel good that I will be receiving a refund, but I feel bad/disappointed that the refund will be coming from other PayPal users - not from the seller, Tmart.

        • @A3Australia:

I too got a refund from Paypal. Looks like the seller lost the money I paid for the fake stuff.

"We have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in your
favour. We were able to recover $88.05 AUD, and this amount has been credited to
you. Please allow 5 business days for this adjustment to be posted."

Maybe they'd seen that I'd bought a real Xioami from AllBuy after I lodged the complaint.

          TMart can go stuff themselves.

    • +2

I have not received mine either. Contacted Allbuy and they said to wait and then received the following email.

      Dear customer,

We are very sorry to inform you that, there was a batch of orders accidentally lost by our logistics carriers. If your package is one of those, please kindly be more patient to wait. Until Now we've already arranged reshipment in priority by special shipping channels on July 8th.

In addition, we have started to cooperate with more professional shipping companies to enhance our delivery efficiency in the future.

Sorry again for so much inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding.

      Best regards,
      Allbuy Team

      • A colleague has had the same information from AllBuy. The stuff went missing so they are trying to find out who received it, and who didn't.

        • in my paypal dispute, allbuy just posted a non-trackable tracking number saying it was posted june 17 and "may take a bit longer."

itching to escalate to a claim but i have to have something to convince paypal to decide in my favour..

    • +1

      The response:

"Thank you for your support for Allbuy!

Your order has been shipped on Jun 17 with a parcel number LXXXXXXXXXXX via Netherlands packet. It can't be tracked as you choose flat mail as shipping method.

The actual delivery time mainly depends on logistics.Typically it may take 15~25working days (i.e. Mon-Fri, excluding public holidays in Hong Kong and in your country) to deliver the package.

We strive to make sure the items reach you smoothly and safely. We appreciate your patience.

Thanks for your understanding and patience."

If I don't receive it in a week I'm escalating to a claim.

      • not received mine either. Have emailed allbuy but no reply.

Will open dispute end of this week.

Regardless i will not use allbuy again

  • Mine hasnt arrived either, 'shipped' 17th.

  • Still waiting on my order from Allbuy to arrive… ordered on the 17th of June. Is this normal?

edit: just saw the comments on the second page… I see I'm not the only one.

    • doubt it. just to give you an idea, the silicone case i bought for it 5 days later arrived in about 2.5 weeks (also shipping from China).

  • Ordered 9th JUne for 2 of them and still havent received them.

  • still waiting for 4 of mine..tracking doesn't work either

  • i ordered a $1 3.5mm audio cable & some bluetooth headphones along with my powerbank and the audio cable showed up today. Alone :-(

  • Mine still haven't turned up :/

  • +1

Mine was shipped on 17 June and just arrived in the post today (28 July). Where can I get a really short USB Lighting cable to charge iPhone 5 to suit this? Don't want it to cost more than the power bank device! (AllBuy). also I did all the tests and 100% genuine.

      • Mattwilko

Certainly not good. The cables is loose and so says the iphone that it is not a
cable heats up and very slowly charges
It broke after using it 3 times..
Product will not charge iphone USB via laptop -says incompatible cable.
Product does not work with iphone 5
Cables were defective and did not work with iPhone 5S.
Received my cords but they do not work
Item stopped working after a month.
The cable somehow is failing after 3 weeks of usage.
Transaction was fine but the cable stopped working properly after the 3rd night
The cable does not support USB 2, so problem with connecting to Macbook Pro.
The cable charged my iPod once, really slowly and then it never worked again..

        • Keep in mind those 14 reviews are the only bad ones out of 1000….. You don't expect them all to be perfect, and it's only $1… Just buy 2? or feel free to buy a genuine apple one!

        • @Mattwilko:

Most buyers would have left feedback (positive) well before these cables failed. It is only the few who 1) did not and 2) whose cables failed within the feedback time period, who would have left the Neutral/Negative feedback.

Most buyers of a $1 cable would just toss it away after it started playing up, failing.

No need to buy an Apple brand cable. Just buy any 'brand name' cable that is MFi certified. I notice that the seller to whom you linked was using the MFi artwork
/image without actually having any MFi certified cables.

        • +1

          @A3Australia:

I bought 3 from that exact seller. Can't go wrong for $1..
They all work fine with my iPhone 6 and charge at 1A after checking them with a meter.

  • Took 6 weeks for mine to arrive.

  • So I still haven't yet received my Powerbank from Allbuy.
They told me a week ago to wait 1-2 weeks, and now they told me to wait 2 weeks. I have a feeling they are trying to delay me past the '45 day Paypal dispute window'. I don't think they realise it's now 180 days.

    • I'm pretty sure they're very well aware of it.

I think it's more likely they're also aware that free postage can take a looooong time.

      I just received mine today.

    • I'm still waiting for mine but at least you got a reply. I didn't hear back from them. I received the piston V3's that i ordered at the same time about 3 weeks ago. I got the email saying it had been shipped 2 days after i received the shipping notice for the pistons.

      • still waiting for mine too.

they told me to check my local post office if they doesn't have it.

        • I'm glad I'm not the only one… we can all be miserable together!

        • @tangcla: they asked me to wait 2 weeks and then I contacted them again after the 2 weeks and they asked me to continue to wait. I have opened a Paypal dispute.

        • +1

Finally got mine today. First they asked me to check local post office, then to confirm the shipping address in next email, then asked to wait another 1-2 weeks for them to check. Luckily i have got it now.

Mine arrived today. Interestingly enough, the tracking number is an EMS tracking, trackable on 17track.net as well as Australia Post (it doesn't show when it was sent though).
If they had told me they were re-sending it, it would have been much better.

Got mine yesterday so have closed the PayPal dispute.

  • Time to open a paypal dispute. Still dont have the 2 I ordered 9th June
