SSD Upgrade for Mid 2009 13" MacBook Pro

Anyone know which of these SSD's would be better? It is only going in a mid 2009 13" MacBook Pro.

I am open to suggestions for similar SSD. I have two Samsung SSD's in other MacBook Pro's at home, but not sure if I should spend the $$ considering the age of this computer (even though it has never had much use over the years).

Thanks

    • Thanks. This is a computer that I have decided to give my son just for his homework (too young to own a computer otherwise), so I don't want to spend a lot on a drive as he won't really need the storage - we are allowing him one game installed (the sims 2).

The Kingston drive is local, but I have only ever had Samsung SSD's. I was just worried with the price being so cheap on the Kingston that it wasn't a very good drive. The MacBook is limited to 3GB/s transfer rate due to it's age, otherwise I would of gone for something higher-end.

    • Yeah I opened it up to see if it needed cleaning, but it has been boxed for the last two years and was still very clean inside so I think I may have cleaned it before it was packed away.

      Thanks again.

  • Yeah I was just looking at the 850 EVO, they don't have any near me in the lower storage, so might just grab the 250GB for $165.

    Thank you again.

  • +1

Ended up going with the 120GB Kingston. All good. Thanks again.
