iPrimus Dont Care about Ping on NBN Service?

Ive been having massive spikes in ping for the last two weeks.
normally ping is around 5-10
ive been getting 100-200 ping in speed tests
last night it spiked to 341 ping the highest i ever gotten, i just called iprimus to find out what can be done and they told me they cant (or wont?) do anything about ping.
and to go to another company.

idk what to do as i play ps4 and pc online and with ping getting worse it's unplayable.

i still have a month and a half left on my iprimus contract how can i get out of it and switch now?

last night at its worst i had to resort to using vodafone 4g from my mobile.

Can someone please help me by telling me what i can do?

  • Iprimus are horrible
I have NBN atm and am moving to activ8me
    Same deal but 30% cheaper

    • im going to go to devoted NBN $56 a month for unlimited nbn at 12/1 no contract
and free modem from them as they have $100 welcome credit.

i just need to see if i can get out of remaining 1 and a half months of my contract.

    • i left iprimus adsl for Activ8me NBN and i am really happy with it.
Iprimus adsl was bad for the last year.

  • Iprimus and TPG probably don't pay enough for the fiber bandwidth, see as per Mosky's comment.
So their consumers will have to put up with congestion at peak hours. That causes latency issues.

In fact I believe to get a good NBN experience you might have to go with Telstra or Belong — they're probably the only company rich enough to afford enough bandwidth for their NBN customers/

  • there some horrid speeds!
