  • The schedule is normally released around August, so once it's released have a look at the dates and you might get lucky. You've got a good chance of at least seeing something. Good luck!

hope so, went last year saw 2 games, and they were so boring. one slam dunk in both games, and both blow outs.

      • That's a shame. it can happen but it's not that common, you were unlucky. Last year we went and saw something like 11 games and they were all awesome. Try and sit down the bottom if you can, even if it's on the side, it makes a big difference to the atmosphere. The venue also makes a difference, some home team crowds are more passionate than others. Our favourites so far are golden state warriors in San Francisco and Oklahoma City. Really would love to see memphis, charlotte or new orleans so i hope you get lucky there :)

        • How did you buy your tickets? I was looking to go this year but saw the cost of some tickets through NBA.com and almost fell over. They were around 200 USD for a Kings OKC game. Maybe I was doing something wrong, but I was looking in Feb for a May game.

I'm hoping to get a flight next year and see some games.

Did you buy at the ticket box in the States or online?

@bhm133: We either use stubhub or nbatickets.com - nbatickets.com is an official reseller and they reissue the ticketmaster ticket in your own name so minimal risk, and stubhub isnt official reseller but is so big and their reputation is good. Never has an issue.

Tickets downstairs for OKC can be expensive, it's a matter of being patient and waiting for a good deal to turn up. There's a few aggregator sites like seatgeek.com and tiqiq.com that help but they don't show everything so you still need to look separately, but it's how i got some good deals, by just checking everyday (like bottom section, halfway like, row 16 for golden state vs lakers for $150 each, which was ridiculous)

        • @meowmeowmeow:

Those are the prices I was finding too.

Thanks for all the detail. I'll keep my eyes open for a deal on the sites you mentioned.

        • @bhm133:

From memory, we sat downstairs (corner seats) for less that US$100 for a few games…buy your tickets early or hope a good deal comes up. Sign up to stubhub and sometimes you get $10 coupon codes too - it's not that frequent but it does happen. I think i got one for my birthday even.

  • Yea it'd all be guess work at the moment..uneducated guess too.
You should try to get to NYC, so you can help us Knicks fans boo our home team haha

    • if it was twenty years ago id happily watch the knicks… i think the knicks vs lakers would awesome though….

    • +1

for the record, i was a big fan of knicks back then, loved anthony mason, he looked evil

      • Yea that guy was a beast. They don't make tough guys like him and Oakley anymore.
        Loved Starks too.

        • +1

yep the knicks had a good team when derek harper and starks were guards. oakley, smith and ewing up front, with mason coming off the bench… i even liked anthony bonner and his cr*p free throws

        • will be seeing the knicks vs spurs nov 3…no idea how to get tickets tho

        • @unclesnake:
          Stubhub?
I'll be at the garden on Dec 21

        • @anawth: cant believe it is $70 a ticket giuven how shit the knicks r

        • @unclesnake: were haha

  • You should be able to just make it for the pre season games in November. Bonus as it will be cheaper.

    • The preseason would be finished by then. Regular season starts on the 27th of October with the opening game to be in either San Fran (Golden State) or Cleveland. Pre season games would finish up a few days before that.

Just gotta hope that the cards fall your way. I was in the US for more than a month last year. Due to pure coincidence, even with the amount of games played there was only 1 game that I had the option of attending. Teams were either playing away from home, or playing at home on the same night I was flying out of the city etc etc.

      • thanks for the tip, so pretty much october 28th onwards… yeh i have a few chances but not many… i am a spurs fan and wanted to see them play, i had a flight to dallas for 21st december, and from memory spurs played the night before…. worst timing…

is there any logic to the draw or is it just random, i mean for who plays at home first, just trying to see if pelicans be at home october 28th

I will rearrange my trip if need be, my wife gets angry, but oh well…

        • There is logic in relation to competition strength, amount of division and conference games, costs as well as home court availability that go into the schedule.

But none of that will allow you to guess when and where a particular team would be on a particular date.

Best bet is to wait until early/mid August when the schedule is released. That way whatever plans you have can be concrete and you can change travel plans as necessary.

  • for those interested the schedule came out, and i can see plently of games. but as a spurs fan am doing a road trip from boston to new york and then to wizards….
