Find Me a Cheap Desktop Monitor

So I'm going blind and using a laptop screen for work and reading is killing my eyes, and I've seen tons of deals on monitors before.

Having no idea about anything to do with PCs, can someone find me the best monitor for under $300?

I don't mind if it's a TV used as a monitor either, as for restrictions, more than 17 inches and less than 40?

    I personally using U2414h at home for gaming and P2414h at work for text and numbers reading. Both have been serving me well. Excellent IPS panel.

      Cheers, looking at the U2414h now. Do you suggest I just wait for Dell to drop that model into the Bundle sales area?

      Definitely if you can :) It doesn't pop out very often though. Check it every morning around 930am to 1030am, that's the time where they always update the list.

      Also Windows 7 is killing me, literally flashing Windows 8 on my Lenovo the second we speak lol.

I would get high resolution, IPS, flicker free and matte not glossy perhaps.
