Ducted Reverse Cycle Air Conditioner in Camden, NSW

Hi guys,

Trying to find a reputable company that has ducted reverse cycle air con at a decent price around Camden, NSW. Not sure how many KW we will need but the house is approximately 20sq.

Any suggestions would be great please. We have tried contacting some that advertise on ebay, but haven't had any luck with them answering their phones.

Thanks :-)

  • Just to play devil's advocate, have you considered just a single room option? Cooling/heating a whole house is dramatically more expensive to operate, and you can't be in every room at once. I know it gets both pretty warm and pretty cool out at Camden, but climate control in the living area, supplemented by ceiling fans and small portable heaters for the occasions you are using the other rooms and need heating/cooling will be much cheaper over time.
I can give you an idea of some heating costs. I'm up in the mountains, so cooling isn't a big deal, but to give you an idea of the consumption, our heating unit uses 800kW just to blow the hot air, plus double the gas usage of a room heater running full tilt.
It is only a better bet to run the central heating if more than 3 rooms are concurrently occupied by people sitting doing nothing (cause if you are doing even mild housework like washing dishes or cooking you are generating enough body heat to keep warm). This happens almost never.

With cooling it is the reverse. You can almost certainly get by with ceiling fans except where people are actively working, even when it is pretty hot.

    Worth a thought?

    • +1

Worth a thought, but we also did not want ugly split systems in multiple rooms. We were hoping to get multiple zones with the ducted, so not all zones operate at the same time e.g. living room, dining and master bedroom on one zone.. and the rest of the house on another zone.. therefore hopefully saving money too. I'm a cold frog and the heater i have does nothing for me.. i need to practically sit on it to stay warm :-(

  • I have a 26sq house in the narellan area and a mitsubishi pea-rp140/puhz-rp140 combo. It's 14kw cooling and 16kw heating, and works well. 2 zones, 8 outlets, and the house is modern.

Can't tell you who installed it, or how much it was specifically as I had it included in a house I bought.

    • Ok, so it looks like I might need to go for the slightly higher kW. So one in Camden was advertising 7/8kw reverse cycle for $4500 installed. The house is actually situated in spring farm.. So we might be neighbours :-P

      • http://www.mitsubishielectric.com.au/186.htm shows you the product family that I have. n.b. my one is the largest that runs on a single phase. 7/8 is on the smaller side.

        • Thanks for that.. It might be something I'll need to do a bit more research on. I'm still wanting suggestions on reliable air con tradies that can give a quote though :-)
