perhaps the shiraz equivalent of hoddles creek pinot noir, considered by many to be the best value of its kind, good for cellaring and better than some twice its price :)

Huon Hooke 92/100:

Mike Press’s reds are astonishing value for money. This deep red-purple wine has a restrained but fresh aroma and is packed with flavour and substance. Black fruits, spices, graphite and earthy aromas; medium weight and waves of smooth tannins. Now to 18 years. 14.8 per cent alcohol.

  • I like your taste in wines, so I'm really tempted. Have you had this particular drop in this vintage?

  • Very tempted…

  • One of my favourite shiraz's

    • on that note, I've purchased. Cheers!

  • I've been a fan of Mike Press since discovering their shiraz 2 years. By far the best shiraz you will taste at this price and very comparable to the best $30-$40 bottles around (I don't spend any more than that). Buy their maximum and keep a couple of cases hidden for a few years.

  • It's ok, but very Penfolds-like despite being from Adelaide Hills. Mike used to work at Penfolds.

Was good value before Vinomofo started discounting wines up to 70%.

    • what $10 vinomofo wine's as good?
