Polarized sunglasses to fit a big head

My head is slightly too big to comfortably fit the generic sunnies that you find down at the pharmacy and it starts to hurt if I wear them for even a short time. The aviator style ones are the only sort don't actually hurt, but they are far too fragile for my field of work and they don't suit me anyway.
I've seen Fatheadz brand online but I don't think they are sold in Australia. Does anyone know of anything similar?

  • I have a pretty big head and Ray Ban wayfarers seem to both suit me and fit me comfortably.

Not the cheapest option but will last you a while.

  • I'm on the large side and went for Serengeti. Also not cheap but the best polarized lens you can get IMO.

Their range varies from both extremes of small to large. The measurements they quote are (lens width) x (lens height) x (max diagonal lens width ) x (gap between lenses), I used them to get the overall width, turned out spot on. Sunglass Hut carries a few models as well if you prefer to try on.

The sale section of their website has some good bargains from time to time. I got these marked down to $120.

These ones on special are large according to Amazon

If they're used for work it may be worth the extra given they're tax deductible.

  • Electric EC/DC XL Polarized.

  • Anyone knows of good polarized pair that really good for direct sunlight in the afternoon, I have a few pairs and all of them are pretty useless when driving west in the afternoon.

  • Thanks. These seem fairly expensive compared to the basic pharmacy brands.
I'll have a look for some in shops to try first.

A few more Qs about the price range:
Are they noticably more durable or is there a particularly durable brand?
Do you notice a quality difference going into this price range?
    Is it otherwise worthwhile?
