No, that's jusst a rocker, it's not an alternative to a cradle, and there are several types of cradle available here. Like others, I also suspect the one you've pictured, OP would not pass our safety standards though.
I've seen some Fisher-Price Newborn Rock n' Play's floating around ebay and gumtree. I've seen them reviewed pretty well. We were looking at getting one but we got one of these off Gumtree instead: http://www.babybunting.com.au/tiny-love-rocker-napper-red.ht…
I've seen something like this but it was in South East Asia. Not sure if it would pass safety standards here.
