never used these guys before - you have to submit info to get a quote. what?

    • Used them before. Either ask for quote or go into a store and show deal

  • I recently flew to Honolulu from Adelaide using Jetstar. Never again. Instead of transferring check in luggage themselves onto the international flight during the stop over in Sydney they make passengers collect their luggage in the domestic terminal. Big pain in the ass.
Also the 787 seats are very narrow in economy.

  • Never fly Jetstar. They cancelled my daughter's flight to Hawaii ('technical issue' with plane), left her USA holiday in chaos and it ultimately cost me $3000 to sort out the mess. Jetstar were NO HELP. NONE!

    • technical issue

A financial term meaning "too many empty seats"

  • good price, bad airline - ain't called Crapstar for nuthin'

    • ain't called Crapstar for nuthin'

maybe because it rhymes with "Jetstar"

      • It doesn't even rhyme…

    • they are called JETstar

  • Flown plenty of times with jetstar never had an issue not to say others haven't.
Prices are cheap enough. Dont forget travel insurance is all I would recommend.

  • Don't go with Jetstar. Delayed both my flights going there and returning.

I've flown about 20 times with Jetstar over the past 5 years and have only have a couple of issues (cancelled flights due to weather events). In all of those cases I ended up getting spending money for breakfast, dinner, and the hotel. Those cancellations actually improved my holidays. YMMV. Get travel insurance if you're concerned about cancellations.

    • I've had the same experiences. We fly with them to HI every year. Have been delayed 8hrs and 15hrs flying out of HI but was given a hotel room, meal vouchers etc. We actually received a $100 Jetstar voucher per passenger, two adults and two kids under 5 hence $400, to compensate for the inconvenience regarding the 15hr delay. The tough thing about HI is if they have a pilot unable to fly due to whatever reason it takes quite some time to fly a replacement in. This was the issue we had on both delays. I can cope with a delay here and there, their prices make overseas travel extremely affordable. Travel insurance paid out on the 15hr delay as it was longer than the 12hrs it needs to be for them to compensate hence made out quite well and got extra time in HI, how could one complain!?
