Cheap MP4 MKV Media player for TV Suggestion

Hi,

I've got two TV's with poor USB media playing support. I'm wanting to play my MP4 MKV library but only the smart TV can play them all. I need a bargain or cheap media player that plays all the mp4's I throw at it. All I want is for it to have HDMI, USB, Subtitle, Resume and 1080p support. Streaming isn't necessary.

I found the Mini HD Media Box for around $30 but then I found Android boxes such as the EMISH X700 for about $10 more. Any suggestions would be great.

      Agreed, but only down side is you need to have a server on… do mobile devices work as servers?

    You'll be constantly annoyed at the interface and speed of these cheap boxes. Go up to $100, buy something good

    Kaiser Baas Media Hub? It plays any file. Mine cost $34.30 at Officeworks. Accepts USB and SD Card.

    I got a pipo x7s, it's intel based and comes with windows 8.1 and Android 4.4, so you can load up kodi on either OS.
    Seems kodi will be releasing on windows and intel before android and arm for new versions of code.

    I also have an arm android based unit, works fine, but tricker for updates of kodi, and less apps.

    The pipo windows unit also does my streaming radio, etc,etc.

    Cost $120 US delivered, but took 4 weeks to get here.
