Correct me if I am wrong, I believe that the gift card that hanging on the display are not activated, so they have zero value!
You are right, this is assuming its a competition and they will activate them for you.
Otherwise it is straight for iPads and iPhones, I'd never use one myself but I'd sure as hell sell them for cash.

I watched a video on youtube of a guy (in the EU) who won one of those competitions. He grabbed all the expensive ipads due to their size/price ratio, and carried 10+ at once to the trolley. He was remarkably efficient, then finished off with one of those $10k tvs
I would love to watch that video.

Bah I remember a game show in the early 90's or late 80's which was based in a supermarket and in the last round you had to collect as much value of goods in ur shopping cart.
