What's the best way to get a cross breed kitten (in particular a Russian Blue one) ?

Hi All.
My son wants a kitten. He does not have any preferences.
But my wife does.
She would like to have a Russian Blue cat.
I do not mind but they are pretty expensive like $700+.
So we came to compromise that she'll be happy with a cross breed of a Russian Blue providing that it looks similar.
My assumption is that a cross breed should be less expensive.

Does anyone know where I can get a cross breed kitten of a Russian Blue ?
Thank you.

Start with the rspca ..there are plenty of cats out there that need a forever home.

  • It looks like good ones are handed over to the regular customers straight away.
At least as I was said that chances to find cross breeds of Russian Blue there are next to zero.

What if you take your wife and son to a shelter / local RSPCA to 'look for a Russian Blue cross kitten' in the secret hope that your wife will fall in love with a cat there and forget all about the Russian Blue criteria once she's actually got a fluffball looking into her eyes with that irresistible "take me home plz?" look?

Your son will be happy, you will be happy (cheaper cat, less stress of having to find a luxury model), and wife will be happy (cos.. cute new friend to cuddle!).

Win win win? Could that work or would she stand her ground even when faced with hundreds of adorable, non Russian Blue, fuzzy faces needing homes?

      • Sorry, mate. But she wants a Russian Blue one and the most I could get is to obtain her approval on a cross breed.
