One Way Ticket to Indonesia

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if I can enter Indonesia on a one way ticket with Air Asia or do I need an outbound flight?

Thanks

Last year I didn't get asked for an outbound flight, but I entered through Jakarta. If you're going to Denpasar they might do things differently there.

    Shouldn't be an issue.

I entered on one-way ticket 3 years ago and wasn't questioned, they just want the $25 and don't really care about anything else. I had another ticket to Sri Lanka but they didn't know that or ask at all…. Things may have changed recently though.

Visa on arrival is granted on a case by case basis. If the traveler is deemed to be high risk of overstaying, they may ask for proof of an exit flight. If one is asked but can't provide this, the visa and entry may be rejected. If asked, you could show other factors that would convince them that you would not over stay. Other factors could be an existing employment, commitments, asset, etc outside of Indonesia.

  • Thanks guys…

More concerned of exiting Australia rather then entering Indo.

I have heard you can be asked for proof of onward journey from Indo at checkin in Aust. airport.

As long as you have somewhat of a valid plan it shouldn't be an issue. They'll be asking to check if you might be bringing drugs etc back, in which case they'll let you go anyway and just question and search you more vigorously on your return or if you're going to join a certain group fighting in the middle east at the moment, in which case they might not let you go.

If you're planning on touring around Asia etc. it's no problem just try and take some reservations etc with you or at least show you have enough money to live, travel and buy a return ticket.
