How best to use Telstra sim starter kits

Hi guys,

I have 9x packs of the Telstra kits from the last Woolies and Coles deals, plus two $10 prepaid sims that came with mobiles I bought.

My sister has just come back from overseas and is basically looking for the following in a plan:

  1. Mostly data, but also a little call credit for emergencies
  2. Long-life expiry

I have heard there are tricks such as transferring over some credit to extend expiry etc. is that correct?

I have read the Whirlpool wiki but there is so much to

Thanks in advance

  • Bumpity bump…anyone?

  • If you want data only then the data pass plan is your choice, I think $30 starter kit gives you 3gb and the extra credit can be used for sms, not sure about call.
If you want call, prolly best to activate under freedom plan, you get 1.3gb data and $220 for call and sms plus free nightly call or free call to telstra number, the real $30 credit can be tranferred out to other prepaid (actually $29 due to 25c cost per tranfer and $10 limit each transfer). So to take advantage of this you need another telstra prepaid sim. When the freedom sim credit expires, just activate another sim.

  • This might go into it, I had it bookmarked for myself
