Hello, does anyone know if there is a way to ensure that your details are not listed in the phone book.
I am about to change my landline provider and have been advised that they must put my details in and if I do not want them included, I must pay a monthly fee. I found this odd because I have never paid a fee to withhold my details from phone books in the past.
I think the only way is by having a silent number but depending on the provider, as you said, they may charge a fee.

Optus and Vodafone are free.
Telstra, iiNet, Dodo charge $2.93 per month
Internode $4.00 per month
iPrimus $3.50 per month
Spintel $2.95 per month
ACMA recommends shopping around because charges vary from provider to provider.
