I was at South wharf DFO Melbourne today and went into Anaconda to get some shoes and was surprised to see it was closing down! everything was on sale between 20-70 % off store wide . All camping furniture such as tables, chairs, stretchers, hammocks were all 50% off, they also had rack after rack of $10 clothing items
It's also worth noting they have a MASSIVE fish tank with fresh water river fish in their fishing department for $5000 Or reasonable offer(the tank was huge!!!)
Went there today. No geniune bargains yet. I'd hold off going for at least a few days.

There is an Anaconda opening in Moorabbin soon I wonder if they are essentially relocating
Only the expensive good stuff like fridges would re-locate. Anything else they are best getting rid of as it costs money to lug and transport stock around. Doesn't look like their lease is expiring anytime given the lack of bargains seen.
No idea when they are going to really reduce prices. They had a lot of ordinary t shirts etc for $10 but nothing fancy. I probably could have picked up some cheap champion socks for about $16 for 7 pairs but again, not that much of a bargain. Prices are still a joke compared to some of the special buys at Aldi or Costco for similiar quality.
I'll check again next next week to see if anything is really a bargain. There was lots of overpriced plastic furniture "on sale".

They don't advertise the reduced price for everything though, you'll need to ask.
I went on Sunday and randomly asked for prices for things I liked and they were all 30%-50% off shelf price.
Asked one of the staff members how long they remaining open and she said 6 weeks. So perhaps wait a couple more weeks for the prices to drop further
Yup pretty much. Most of the reductions are just the EOFY sales that are around at all Anaconda stores.
The biggest reductions seem to be on all the sports clothing and it's not amazing value anyway.
Thanks OP, I will be in the vicinity tomorrow and will pay a visit to Anaconda to see if they have any genuine worthy bargains for myself.
