Asus F555ld i5 - 5200m with 2GB VGA - $799, Is This Cheap?

Hi everyone, unfortunately I have to retire my 3 years old Toshiba satellite.
I'm currently looking at this laptop

Can anyone tell me if this is considered as a bargain or not?

Thank you :)

  • I wouldn't say 'bargain', but it's reasonable if you want it.

  • You're paying about $200-$300 extra for an i5 CPU and 1080p screen, do you want those? (I think they are worth it, but most people wouldn't notice the difference).

Asus is supposed to be a decent brand.

  • It depends on what you need the laptop for. There is a dedicated graphics card in there with a full HD screen. If you dont really play games and just the laptop for just office work and youtube, you might be better off paying for a lower spec $600-ish system.

  • Nope. The price is too high for this configuration.

  • +1

In my opinion, a more appealing deal for the same price would be this:

    Dell Inspiron 15 3000 ($799)

Of course, you lose the 1080p screen, but you gain Nvidia GT 840M 2 GB graphics (almost on par with the 2014 retina MacBook Pro graphics), 8 GB of ram and an i7 dual core processor. :) If you are after something with more power and don't mind the screen resolution, try this one out.
