With the Telstra, Vodafone, and so on wifi dongles with XXGB of free data how do they work?
Do I just connect it up and of I go or do I Have to log onto say Vodafone, give my credit card details and then make sure I cancel so as not to be charged.
I just want to buy it $9.00 use its data then chuck it or recycle it. No commitments, subscriptions or risk of having my credit card charged, nothing.
Whether it be recharges or cards/ data. So long as one makes the purchase at Colesworth/aldi institution, that shall consolidate to keeping such services off electronic banking. Effectively fire walled in Prepay.
…….and hang onto device then buy cheap prepaid sims for future use. Cash up front at point of sale is the best method.
Ok, so buy it cash, use it, no login, or sign ups, but then does the data cut off once you reach the limit?

The voda ntwk lead w a zerorated component in unlimited weekends, so since about February the phone plan [Prepaid cap 40], would double as my personal hotspot. Not a bad method complete with +dozen hours voice for android iOS.
Got closer to $1GB ratio since graduated from the data cards.

Remove the SIM card and then sell to CEX for $15. I've done it for 12 modems and now have 36gb worth of Optus data.
Downside I guess is that's it's 3G, oh and on an iPhone you'll need to jailbreak to enable tethering.
The only money/financial info you hand over is at the checkout when you purchase the $9 modem. No need to worry about anything after that, it's completely prepaid - go home, activate the sim, use the device, chuck it once the data is used. The only reason you may want to register/login to Vodafone is to check your data usage.
