10

I found this deal on the cheerson/cxhobby quadcopter its ready to fly and its the open source model with the auto path finder function :). on value basket seems like a pretty sweet deal. and its already free shipping. I've bought from value basket before from my experience
they always courier/express shipping methods. so thats pretty darn cheap. the closest one i could find cheaper was banggood but you payed extra if you wanted
ems/express.

Make sure to use cashrewards for value basket.

  • Is it the same one? $300 from gearbest.

    http://www.gearbest.com/rc-quadcopters/pp_113550.html

    • yup same one. but shipping isn't free for this one, and I'm abit worried in regards to the lilo polymer battery, i got my cx20 from gearbest it was stuck in customs for 2 weeks. wasn't declared properly. value basket tends to use couriers rather than ems alot of the times from wat i remember

I really regret that bought this CX-20 from this Valuebasket company few months ago. It was the first time that I bought a product from them despite reading many bad reviews about this company.

In my experience, their after sale support is WORST of all that I have ever dealt with. Even though I sent them video clearly demonstrating the product's defects, they still demanded many unreasonable requests. Their responses are full of abuse and treated their customer like an idiot.

At the end - nothing solved and I gave up.

    Lesson learned.

    • wow really damn that sucks. what was wrong with your one?. i buy use to buy from them alot back then when it comes to my camera lenses. I've been pretty lucky with them. they even honored a pricing error on this lense i bought for 150 bucks but worth 400 hahah.

    • Please feel free to neg the deal if you feel this strongly.

  • It is currently $312 + $2shipping on Banggood.

    • is it ems or express tho? last i checked ems was 12-20 bucks. correct me if im wrong.

  • Some more notes for those who decide to buy from valuebasket.

I escalated via Paypal and Paypal asked me to return the product to them with the following conditions:

Return must be via registered mail or courier and at your own cost.

Failure to do the followings will result in a restocking fee (% of the product value) being applied to the order in accordance with our Returns Policy:
    - Cable (AV, USB, power plug) 5%
    - Earphone 10%
    - Case/Screen Protector 10%
    - Battery 15%
    - Remote 15%
    - Charger 15%
    - Box & Original Packaging 25%
    - Item not returned in good condition or as New 15%

By default the product can't be "as New" hence 15% will be deducted. And the packaging will always be damaged (as you receive it) that's another 25%.

  • I bought this a while ago for a little over $300 a while ago from valuebasket.

Mine turned out not to open source but a big fly shark version. Not a huge issue as I wasn't intending to use mission planner software etc.

I did update the firmware thru the bigflyshark website - GPS became unstable, was able to flash back to an earlier firmware but not without difficulty. Was working well prior to update.

Happy with purchase. Definitely get prop guards, extra landing gear.

  • I did read up on the cx-20 and there seems to be a lot of pre-flight checks. Or even unpacking checks: Position of gps receiver, check of the soldering.
Not buying yet, getting a bit of a hand at flying with my Syma x5c-1.

    • The Syma X5-C was my first quad. Easy to fly, not a great transmitter range, short flight time, some of the batteries I bought can swell when charging.
Overall a great intro to quadcopters.

The CX-20 doesn't take long to assemble. I never opened up to check the soldering until recently - everything looked okay. Takes a minute or two, occasionally three to get GPS lock. Makes the X5-C look like a "toy". Battery takes a little while to charge and the spare I bought is a snug fit in the quad.

      • Did you look at the Syma X8C as well? What about walkera350? What were the reasons for the CX-20.

Currently I am flying the X5c ( well, as soon as the neighbour returns it, or the one from gearbest arrives ) and I like it alot. Good for flying practice, as I am new to remote controlled flying things.

For my son, I bought the Kmart quadcopter. He cracked the foam around the blades, so I stripped it. Now it flies much better. One of the engines did crap itself, and made the flying impossible, so I got a second one, and dismantled the first one for replacement parts.

I ordered replacement parts for the Kmart copter, that were to big fo the cradle. Removed the cradle, and now attaching the Batteries with velcro.

        • Hi, I was looking for a quad with GPS and was impressed with the price of the CX-20. Didn't really look at the Walkera. Banggood seems to have a good price at the moment for the CX-20.
